Zehnder Pumpen takes social and environmental responsibility.

Like the entire SFA Group, we are committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in accordance with ISO 26000.
Our actions as a company are based on the following principles:

Respect for human rights

Our company has a moral responsibility to respect and uphold human rights in every situation, regardless of the context in which it operates. Respect for human rights is an indispensable priority.

Respect for the interests of stakeholders

It is in the interest of our company to take into account the needs and concerns of all stakeholders (e.g. local residents, employees, suppliers, customers) in all actions. This demands a high level of respect and understanding for the different perspectives and requirements of the respective stakeholders.

Respect for the rule of law

All actions within our company shall always be in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This results not only in a legally sound way of working, but also in a high degree of responsibility towards all stakeholders.

Respect for international standards of conduct

In particular, companies which, like Zehnder Pumpen, are active across borders should be committed to globally applicable standards of conduct. For example, the "UN Conventions on Human Rights" and the guidelines issued by organisations such as the ILO must be observed.

Accountability

We have a responsibility towards the environment and society, and our actions can have far-reaching effects. For this reason, it is of great importance to be transparent and honest in our accountability. This is how we ensure that decisions are in line with the needs and requirements of society and the environment.

Transparency

It is important that we operate as a transparent company and disclose our actions and decisions in an appropriate manner. This is an indispensable aspect that strengthens trust in the company and increases our credibility.

Ethical behaviour

Mindfulness and empathy for our fellow human beings, animals and nature is of utmost importance. It is important that we care for them and stand up for their well-being. The protection and preservation of our environment is a responsibility that we should all share.

Sustainability

Reduction of plastics in packaging management

We are working to reduce the use of plastics in our packaging management. Hence, we use alternative materials such as paper or cardboard to create more environmentally friendly packaging. Using recycled materials helps reduce the consumption of resources.

DIN ISO 14001:2015

Environmental management system

Zehnder Pumpen has introduced an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 standard, thus confirming its commitment to operational environmental protection. The aim is to minimise all relevant negative environmental impacts such as soil or air pollution. To this end, the environmental management system makes use of tried and tested management tools.

Non-discrimination

Awareness raising & training

We are actively involved in raising awareness of harassment, diversity and inclusion among our employees. The aim is to raise awareness of these important issues and create a respectful working environment through targeted events. In addition, in 2022 we introduced a whistleblowing system called "SpeakUp", which allows our employees to anonymously report breaches of ethical principles. Furthermore, our supply chain managers attend regular training on the European 3TG regulations.

Sustainable logistics

CO₂ neutral transports

We are committed to a sustainable transport solution by handling part of our transports in a CO2-neutral way. This is achieved through the use of CO2eq compensation certificates, which allow us to support projects that offset CO2eq emissions while providing other environmental, economic and social benefits. In this way, we contribute to reducing environmental impact and finding sustainable solutions for the transport sector.

Bronze award by Ecovadis

EcoVadis, the world's most trusted provider of corporate sustainability ratings, has once again awarded the SFA Group a bronze medal for social responsibility. This result places the SFA Group in the top 50% of companies assessed by EcoVadis.

The EcoVadis assessment is based on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000, covering 200 spending categories and more than 160 countries.

A sustainability scorecard was used to assess the SFA Group's performance against 21 indicators in four main categories: Environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
