Borehole pumps

Borehole pumps are used for water supply and irrigation. They are used for domestic gardens, agriculture or the irrigation of sports fields. This type of pump also pumps water from drilled wells.

Construction and areas of application of borehole pumps

Borehole pumps consist of several stages. In contrast to centrifugal pumps, they are installed directly in the well. Borehole pumps are used for pumping water from a depth of eight metres. Self-priming pumps can no longer be used beyond this depth as they reach a physical limit. Borehole pumps pump significantly more water than normal submersible pumps or self-priming pumps. This also applies to great depths. They pump clear water with few abrasive and aggressive particles. This is where sand in particular can cause problems. That is why we offer pumps that can take up to 150 sand per g/cum. Borehole pumps are cooled by circulating water. This is usually done by so-called jacket flow cooling. When installed in a cistern, a cooling jacket may also be required depending on the construction of the borehole pump. The devices can either be controlled using an integrated pressure switch or alternatively with an external electronic pressure switch. Both types are equipped with a dry-running protection system.

Zehnder Pumpen's range of borehole pumps

As a professional in the field of pump technology for domestic, industrial or municipal applications, we offer various borehole pumps for specific use. These are available in different series for three inches, four inches and five inches, whereby the specification refers to the well diameter. The diameter of the borehole pump is slightly smaller in order to fit into the well. Depending on which model you choose, they are suitable for different purposes. These include pumping water from deep wells and rainwater cisterns, and they can also be used for garden irrigation or domestic water supply. Furthermore, our well pumps are available in various performance classes. We provide them with a maximum flow rate of up to 24 sqm/h and a maximum delivery head of up to 302 metres. The power consumption of our borehole pumps ranges from 370 watts to 7500 watts. Our range also includes 230 V and 400 V versions. Before purchasing one of our borehole pumps, take a close look at the respective performance classes and areas of application to ensure that the pump meets your specific requirements. Do you have any questions about our pumps or do you need assistance in selecting a suitable pump? Please get in touch with us, our staff will be happy to advise you at any time! For other applications, we also offer submersible waste water pumpspumping stationssewage lifting units and many other pump technologies.
