Sewage lifting units

Sewage lifting units are suitable for pumping sewage containing faecal matter (black water) and also pump waste water (grey water) without faecal matter below the backflow level. They are installed at the lowest point, whereupon a pump conveys the black or grey water into the sewer system. Sewage lifting units can be used in the private, commercial and industrial sectors.

Features of Zehnder sewage lifting units

Sewage lifting units can transport foul and waste water from toilets, bidets, showers, washbasins, bathtubs and even washing machines. All tanks in our sewage lifting units are made of PE-HD. This makes the collecting tanks very robust and chemically resistant to a wide range of acids, bases and fats. Zehnder sewage lifting units are equipped with stable and powerful die-cast aluminium pot motors. They also have a pneumatic level control for setting precise switching points. In addition to the locations, sewage lifting units are also suitable for installation in a shaft outside the building. The Kompaktboy Simplex lifting unit, for example, fits through a manhole opening. Depending on the exact application for which you need the sewage lifting unit, you can choose from different pumping capacities: Our models can handle a maximum delivery head of 39 m and a maximum flow rate of 60 cum/h. They are also available with a tank volume of 55 to 1,000 litres. Tank volumes of up to 20,000 litres are possible through our own tank construction. The sewage lifting units are available as single or double units, whereby the second pump in the double unit is used for operational safety and is switched on at peak load. The pumps in our lifting units have either a free-flow impeller with a free passage of 50 to 100 mm for solids contained in the medium or a cutting unit for shredding solids. A sufficiently large free passage or a cutting unit ensure blockage-free operation of the units.

Advantages of sewage lifting units

Zehnder lifting units can automatically pump waste water, sewage and rainwater above the backflow level into the sewer network. In this way, they protect the building in which they are installed from the risk of backwater from the sewers. The use of sewage lifting units can prevent water damage to buildings, particularly in the event of heavy rainfall, sewer blockages or the failure of public pumping stations. Simple backwater valves, on the other hand, are only permitted to a limited extent when compared to backwater protection by means of a lifting unit. Another advantage of sewage lifting stations is that they are easier and cheaper to install than pumping stations. Furthermore, maintenance is less complicated.
